We're excited to share that applications for the EPFL Humanitarian Action Fellowship (HAF) are open, an integral part of the Engineering for Humanitarian Action (EHA) program. The EHA initiative is a collaborative effort among ETH Zurich, EPFL, and the ICRC, aimed at leveraging Swiss academic expertise to address the needs of vulnerable populations in conflict zones.

Fellowship Objectives:

  • Exploratory Fellowship: Explore potential research collaborations between ETH/EPFL and the ICRC.
  • Stream II Fellowship: Help implement and scale technologies, or assist the ICRC in utilizing results from completed Humanitarian Action Challenge projects.

Fellowship Details:

  • Eligibility: Open to PhD students, PostDocs, and scientific assistants I/II at EPFL, supported by their professors/supervisors.
  • Financial Support: The fellowship covers 70% of the fellow's salary; the remaining 30% must be provided by their research group.
  • Duration: 2-6 months, with a possibility of extension to 1 year for approved Stream II projects.

For more information, visit this website.

We extend our gratitude to our sponsors, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and Rolex for their support of the EHA initiative.
